TODAY IN BIOLOGY CLASS WE LEARNED THAT WHEN YOU MOW THE GRASS THE BLADES RELEASE A CHEMICAL THAT MAKES THAT GLORIOUS SMELL BUT THE REASON WHY THEY RELEASE THE CHEMICAL IS TO WARN OTHER GRASS BLADES OF DANGER SO WHEN WE SMELL THE FRESHLY CUT GRASS SMELL IT’S NOT JUST A GOOD SMELL IT’S THE SMELL OF THE BLOOD AND SCREAMS FOR HELP OF THOUSANDS OF GRASS BLADES
ok they going to warn the grass and then what ? explain how the other grass will run away from the lawmower ?
Food Designer Janice Poon: Every once in a while Mads would say “Hannibal wouldn’t do that!” So we have our little discussions about what Hannibal would do and what Hannibal wouldn’t. It’s kinda fun that way.
Interviewer: How was it working with Mads Mikkelsen? Because you’re kinda both one half of the same person. You’re in his head making the recipes and he’s the actor that breaths life into the character.
Janice Poon: First of all, I can’t say enough good things about Mads, and he’s 99% of Hannibal. Sometimes I read the scripts and I think “He can’t say that!” But Mads will read those lines in a way that he just makes it Hannibal, he’s just so, so good at it. He is so much fun on set, he’s hilarious, he’s easy going, he’s friendly- He’s not a prima donna, he’s wonderful to work with. Once in a while, not very often, I remember once, the production designer wanted me to put strawberries in this bowl of sausages for a flash of red. And Hannibal— not Hannibal, Mads said, “Who eats— I don’t want people to think I’m an idiot! Nobody would do this.”(laughs) So of course he takes it very personally. So I’m not only trying to please what I think is my idea of who Hannibal is, but I’m also very sensitive to what Mads feels Hannibal is. [x]
